The inter-regional RSMMS collective held its 8th general assembly in Abidjan on 23 and 24 September 2025, under the theme "2015-2025: After 10 years... Coalitions, Constraints & Adaptations".

Nineteen trade union organisations from 12 countries in West Africa, North Africa, and Europe came together to evaluate and recalibrate the collective's strategy. The first day was devoted to a public debate outlining the political context and trade union perspectives in Africa and Europe. A side event addressed harassment and violence against migrant women. The second day was limited to delegates from member organisations, who discussed and approved a roadmap and priority areas of work:

1. Harmonisation of the positions of a core group of European trade unions on regularisation issues

2. Women and Migration

3. Standardised data collection across all countries represented in the collective

4. Development of joint trade union awareness campaigns 5. Development of regular migration channels and fundraising

ITUC Africa and ETUC were involved in the discussions.

A political declaration, known as the Abidjan Declaration, was also proposed and discussed as the central message of the Assembly.
