Une trentaine de syndicalistes venus de différents pays arabes, ont participé du 6 au 8 Septembre 2016 à un atelier régional sur la promotion des socles de protection sociale du point de vue des travailleurs.
Cette rencontre, première de son genre dans la région était organisée par le Bureau des Activités pour les Travailleurs ((ACTRAV) en partenariat avec la FES et la CSI-Arabe.
La précarité, la fragilité des systèmes de sécurité sociale des pays arabes et la faiblesse des services disponibles étaient au centre des débats.
Des experts du Bureau International du Travail, ont détaillé les Conventions C102 concernant la sécurité sociale (norme minimum) et la Recommandation R202 sur les socles de protection sociale, et présenté une vue globale sur la situation de la sécurité et protection sociale dans le monde.
A la fin de Trois longues journées de travail et une série d’ateliers, les principaux défis à relever ont été définis, et un plan de stratégie de contrôle et de suivi a été préparé.
Cette rencontre sera suivie prochainement par d’autres, dans l’objectif de créer un réseau de syndicalistes arabes pour le renforcement et la promotion des socles de protection sociale dans la région.
