The Young Leaders programme was launched in Sudan launched in 2012 and aims at strengthening the participation of young people in decision making processes. Every year, the programme mobilizes a select number of young Sudanese men and women (activists from civil society, political parties, and youth-led organizations/initiatives) and builds their capacity to tackle some of the major political, societal and socio-economic challenges the country is facing.
In 2020, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Sudan launched the School of Social Democracy. This is a programme that targets young people from political parties and young democrats aged between 18 and 30 years old and this by respecting gender equality. In a five days camp, the participants get the opportunity to be trained on political education, enhance their skills on social democracy and learn how to promote for its values.
