Offices in the Region

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung has a network of eleven country offices in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and implements projects in a total of 14 countries. Our oldest office is in Lebanon with a history of fifty years, followed by Egypt and Sudan with forty years. Several offices are also covering the work in neighboring countries. As such, the activities in Libya are organized from Tunisia and activities in Iraq are coordinated in Jordan.

The regional work on Climate and Energy is based in Jordan, while the projects on Social Dialogue and Trade Unions, and the Economic Policies for Social Justice projects are based in Tunis. The Youth Study and the Regional Thematic Network projects are based in Morocco. FES regional work on Peace and Security is coordinated by our headquarters in Berlin.
