Social and gender disparities are exacerbated in a digitalized labour market, with women across the MENA region facing various barriers that hinder their ability to benefit from emerging opportunities, or even attain decent employment. This paper explores the current developments in the region in relation to the digital economy and sheds light on what needs to be done to ensure that women and marginalized groups can thrive in the new labour market landscape.
