Under the leadership of Moroccan and Italian RSMMS members, a seminar was held in partnership with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Morocco office in Casablanca to discuss the reasons behind and the consequences of the freeze of the bilateral social security agreement between the two countries.

The discussions were based on the results of a baseline study on 800,000 Moroccans working in Italy who, in the absence of a convention guaranteeing the portability of their rights, are deprived of their social security contributions in case of return to their country of origin. The seminar was marked by the participation of an Italian delegation of the CGIL / INCA / FLAI, the Moroccan UMT / CDT unions and the representatives of various Moroccan ministries concerned.
