Mali: A Panel on Migrant Governance and Social Dialogue, Bamako Forum

In the 19th edition of Bamako Forum, this year the theme of migration dynamics between Europe and Africa was covered. This topic was tackled by a panel by shedding light on the role of social partners for a concerted governance of migrations and the mobility of migrant workers. Introduced by BIT’s representative, the session covered a process of experiences in three regions represented in RSMMS: West Africa in Senegal, Mali and the Maghreb in Tunisia and finally Europe through French representatives from trade unions and from the Ministry of Labor. The discussions further analyzed the situation of migrant workers in the different regions covered by RSMMS. Discussions dealt also with the necessity of assistance about an integrated, rights-based approach for the development of migration policies.
