Annual meeting of the Arab Women Network (AWN)

From 9 to 11 of February 2016, the 7th annual meeting of the Arab Women Network (AWN) was held in Jordan. Women participants from 20 trade unionists , representing 15 unions, members of the Arab Trade Union Confederation (ATUC).

From 9 to 11 of February 2016, the 7th annual meeting of the Arab Women Network (AWN) was held in Jordan. Women participants from 20 trade unionists , representing 15 unions, members of the Arab Trade Union Confederation (ATUC).

This meeting aimed to discuss the socio-economic situation of women in the region, especially those in the conflict areas, and also to prepare annual campaigns of the network.

Furthermore, the AWN decided to launch a survey on violence against women in work place. This survey will help to identify the major problems that women face.

The AWN aims to work on gender issues and improve the situation for workers (female) in the MENA region.
